GLIMPSES OF TREE PROTECTION FESTIVAL 2011

To show our commitment for environment and to express our solidarity with trees the Green Guardian Society Raipur India has once again  organized  the  Tree Protection Festival from 1st to 15th August 2011 all over the  country. On the eve of Raksha Bandhan [13th August] Forest officials and  member of Joint Forest Management committees in Kondagaon [Bastar District] tied largest Rakhi [9 feet diameter] to a  VIP Sal [Shorea robusta] tree. In Chhattisgarh the festival was celebrated all over the state by eco clubs, JFM committees and common people.

Apart from Chhattisgarh Mr. Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister Bihar along with his ministers also tied Rakhi to trees in Patna and inaugurated the Save Tree Campaign.
